Cant sleep without him.. WHY?

I am 18 years old, and I just moved in with my boyfriend almost 4 months ago.. and ive been noticing i cant sleep unless hes there in bed with me. 
So some nights hes in the garage till 2am and im ready to pass out by 11pm.. and i stay awake till he goes to bed because i dont know! I dont worry or anything, just him being there makes me feel better going to bed... what if i wanna stay the night at a friends without him? 
Im scared to leave because i know i wont sleep!  Help! I need to get over this, so i can personally get more sleep too!

living with my bf for a year now and we both relate to this. some times i work nights or he does and we just can’t sleep without eachother. i don’t think it’s “unhealthy” i think it’s comfort and security. it’s routine and habit.

I’m the same way with my husband. I can’t sleep if he’s not next to me and same goes for him. I just get so relaxed feeling his presence. It’s okay, its only a problem if you make it one. I find it adorable and it’s something new I’ve never experienced in my life. Just embrace it. I’m pretty sure you’ll get used to not sleeping without him at some point!

I think it would be better not to need him there to sleep, because it makes you wait for him or causes him to be obligated to sleep when he's not ready to. For some couples, they can make that work because they have a similar schedule, but I think it's a bit weird to be attached in that way... but to be fair, I've never ever ever felt that way, I prefer to sleep alone, even when I've been in a relationship with someone who I slept in bed with, I liked being alone a bit more. Like it was kind of a vacation if I got to sleep by myself. I like sleeping with someone I love, and waking up with them, but, I guess I just don't get attached in that way... 
So whenever I've seen people who need each other to sleep, it seems to cause more problems, like I saw a woman beg her boyfriend to come to bed, but he was throwing a party & didn't want to throw his guests out when he wasn't ready to sleep. She got mad & yelled "you know i need you to sleep & i have to be up earlier"- and i always thought it was super cringy and controlling. But, I would not even want to admit needing anyone.

I relate to this! I’m ready to sleep super early but I find it so incredibly difficult when we’re not on the phone together. It feels ridiculous sometimes but this makes me feel better. I don’t have any advice other than maybe just because it’s new and maybe it’ll get better but I’ve been with mine over two years and I don’t see it improving. I think it’s just your brain showing you care and are at ease with him
