Tdap Vaccine

I'm in college and I am due for my Tdap, which I need to be up to date for or I can't attend clinical. I'm in the first trimester now (12 weeks), but I know you usually dont get it until your third trimester. Can you get it twice? Or am I just going to have to wait until my third trimester? I'm asking my doctor about this next week at my appointment. But I have to let my school know about my immunization status.

It’s recommended in the third trimester to better protect your baby, but you can get it in the first trimester. You cannot get two TDAP shots within the same pregnancy. I’d wait until the third trimester if you’re able to.

Are you in nursing school or a medical program? I know that they require certain vaccinations. I would ask your doctor if it’s safe to get the TDAP sooner. Explain your predicament. If it’s not safe, maybe your doctor could write a letter to your school. Although, I believe it’s safe to get it in your first and second trimester if necessary
