I need your opinion

So December 30th I got my hcg beta level drawn, and it was a little over 7. At that time, my last period was December 6th, and I would have ovulated around the 20th. I had taken several hpt that came back as very faint positives. 2 days ago I got my levels drawn again, but they went down to 4. I was due for my period yesterday, and no sign at all I will be getting it at all. Is it possible I’m just in the very very early stages of pregnancy, that my hcg levels won’t be spiking until several days after my missed period? Or did I have. A chemical and periods usually show up later after one?
