Progesterone hide miscarriage?

Hi my doctors put me on progesterone suppositories after I had heavy bleeding at 6 weeks pregnant and the bleeding stopped. Does progesterone mask a miscarriage or would I still have break through bleeding? They are doing blood work exam and ultrasound again tomorrow so I will know what’s going on tomorrow. Just wanted to hear others experience to know what to expect. We had a fetal pole yolk sac and heart flicker measuring on target on Friday. It just doesn’t make sense to me to lose at that blood and clots and have my body not try to abort the baby. It wasn’t synchronic hematoma. The ultrasound was clear.

It can mask it but your HCG numbers are a good way to tell. This happened to me last year and it really delayed my miscarriage being on progesterone without me realizing it was still happening and it was devastating and drawn out

Since the baby still had a heartbeat, they probably gave you the progesterone to try to save the baby. Yes, progesterone can mask a miscarriage. However, they could save your baby by this. It sounds like they’re doing the safe thing in following up to make sure baby is still alive with your future ultrasound. If anything went wrong they will have you stop taking the progesterone.

It can but your doctor should be monitoring you to make sure it isn’t the case. Progesterone saved my pregnancy now I’m 32 weeks with a healthy baby boy.
