Would you punish your kid for talking trash about you?

These screenshots are from my son, 17. It was time for his weekly phone check and he was acting all nervous and scared like he forgot to delete something. I told him to unlock and he did. He gave the phone to me with his hand shaking. I went through everything and then found this conversation with his girlfriend. I screenshotted these and sent them to my phone. I looked at my son but he was looking away. He then started stuttering but I told him to shut up. I am back downstairs now and I called his dad, grandma, grandpa, uncles and aunts, to tell them about this and they are disappointed just like me. I give this boy life, I take care of him, feed him, and give him shelter. My feelings are hurt. 😢😢 Only opinions I want are mom opinions pls.
