How many would take their child to an UNLICENSED daycare with only 2 other kids in it? The nanny is super experienced and has 2 children of her own and it would be cheaper.

I mean I legally run a daycare and I’m not licensed. It’s legal to have 4 kids in your home PLUS your own.. if she’s a trustworthy good person.. I’d definitely do it.

I almost dis this last year with my daughter but after. Checking out the home and seeing her set up and the prices are very close to what a center wanted I said noo way and we stuck with a center ( preschool type daycare ) more structure better meal plans 
The unlicensed daycare we looked at had a little play area out back that was un gated lady told me she did "healthy " lunch KD hot dogs or cereal... ( in my mind that's not the best ) she expected us to provide snacks and breakfast  she wanted 35 a day plus pay for holidays *christmas, Thanksgiving * and daycare was also closed these days.. 
Our center was 37 a day with taxes included and all meals and snacks provided days center was closed we didnt pay for, fenced in play area.  Much more reasons as to why we didn't go with the unlicensed to mention.

My friend did this with her kid and I checked out the same lady, but 1 thing really bothered me....she's the only adult watching multiple children. If there's an emergency or she gets distracted, or she herself gets hurt etc then what?  If she had a helper, I would have felt much better about it. And with a 2nd adult, there's more accountability.

I know plenty of unlicensed babysitters. They're just as good as a licensed babysitter but it's all about what you are comfortable with.

A friend from high school watches our one year old, and she isn't licensed. But she's experienced and came highly recommended, and I mean I graduated with her. So it was an easy choice for us 🤷🏼‍♀️

It kind of depends - if its someone I know well and trust with my child and it saves me more than the amount I would get back at the end of the year in taxes, then yes I would do it. If I dont know the person well or didnt 100% trust them it would be a no-go.

Personally. It’s scary enough leaving your child with a stranger the least I need for piece of mind is a license! 100% worth the extra cost.
