Private ultrasound ?

I am currently 15 weeks and 4 days and my doctor has yet to give me a proper ultrasound with an ultrasound tech . This is my 3rd pregnancy. I loved ob/gyn that I had for my first 2 children but sadly he passed away a few months prior to me finding I was pregnant again. I guess I’m used to things being a certain way . For example my current doctor has given me 2 quick ultrasounds on a portable ultrasound machine . Literally 2 minutes long ! I was not able to see any movements or baby what’s so ever except for an ultrasound picture she would print out and give me . Which I am grateful for . I would just feel better I had the chance to experience an ultrasound where I could actually see my baby and record ! I’m currently looking into getting a private ultrasound sound done at 20 weeks ($70) and to also schedule an 3d/4d/hd ultrasound as well at 30 weeks  ($100) . The prices in my opinion are a good deal compared to what I paid for with my previous doctor. If you have gotten a private ultrasound , is it worth it ?? And what was your experience?

I agree the prices are great and I think it's totally worth it. These were our scabs yesterday at 18 weeks 2 days. Our next scan will be at 20 weeks hopefully little girl will have some chunk by then lol after that we're gonna wait until 30 weeks to do a last one.

That’s crazy. I’ve already had 2 ultrasounds and I’m 16 weeks.

I’ve had private ones yes as well as regular ob and high risk perinatology ones. The high risk ones were probably the very best because of the quality of equipment they must use to get the information they need. The private ones ive has were nice also. I have many videos they did of my oldest daughter and lots of photos etc. I went starting at 14 weeks with her and it’s interesting but baby is small and doesn’t have much body weight so the images are in my option not as great as you would have say between 24-29 weeks they’ve filled out more and you can see so much detail. I would say they’re worth it, the entire purpose of those places are supposed to be to give you that one on one connected experience. Some drs offices are better about that than others and some are more about the medical side of things. I asked about gender at my last one and the tech was very short and said she would not be looking at that because I’m high risk there were much more important concerns to check on and focus on and that I would be having many more ultrasounds to worry about that. I’ve also had techs go above and beyond and print me out like 15-20 pictures just because she wanted to. So I would say yes it’s worth it but I would say waiting until those weeks if you want the best pictures

Man, I feel like I’m missing out. I haven’t been able to have my ultrasound or dating scan yet and according to my LMP I’m 17+2. I’ve had to use a woman’s clinic for care while I’ve waited for Medicaid approval and they don’t have anything more advanced than a Doppler there. So frustrating! Fortunately I got my approval just before Christmas so I should be able to see the little beebs soon!
