How to make oatmeal more tolerable?

I really need to start eating a healthier breakfast and nearly everyone recommends oatmeal but I really don't like oatmeal. At all... It's not so much the flavor (I enjoy oatmeal cookies and oatmeal bars) but it's the texture that I can't stand. Literally the only way I'll eat it is if I load it up with butter and a ton of brown sugar which to me defeats the purpose of eating healthier.

So for those who aren't big fans of oatmeal for the same reason, are there any tricks you've found to make your oatmeal more palatable? I've heard a lot of people recommending overnight oats; could that possibly be better?
