Formula questions?

So I’m thinking about starting to supplement with formula. My son goes to daycare three days a week and they are always saying they think he needs more he just seems hungry he is currently eating 5.5 oz of breast milk, so i would like to send formula to daycare cause I’m￼ not producing enough milk for larger bottles. How do you know how much formula to start with cause I know generally they need note formula than breast milk. And how did you choose what formula. There are so many different kinds out there, I don’t even know where to start.

We supplement with Enfamil Neuropro gentlease and have since our daughter was born. See if you can get samples from anywhere before you buy a big can.

Call both enfamil and Similac and they will send you samples. We ended up going with Similac pro sensitive with low lactose because I already consume so much dairy. He only gets about 4oz formula a day and the rest is breast milk.

I just had to do the same thing. I’m not producing enough to keep up. I asked my friend who works in a pediatricians office about how to pick formula and she said to go with the regular enfamil or similac first and if one of those work then stick with it because the more specific the formula the more expensive and if you don’t need the specific formulas then there is no reason to use it. We started with enfamil gentle ease ( I had two cans as samples)
