My wedding is very soon so I typed up an outline of the ceremony to send to the pastor. This is the first wedding he has officiated and this whole time he told us that he would do whatever we wanted. He called my fiancé tonight (they are very close which is why we chose him to officiate) to give him his notes on my ceremony outline. He said he didn’t feel comfortable officiating when he did not agree two lines of my vows “doctrinally.”

I will add that I didn’t technically write these vows. I have celtic heritage on both sides and I found these beautiful traditional Celtic vows and I put them together with tradition church vows.

Anyways he said he wants to rewrite our vows for us. Am I wrong for being upset about this? Now I feel like either way (keeping my vows or doing his) I can’t enjoy them anymore. The wedding is only a few days away and I don’t have time to redo everything and I am very stressed. I’m sorry this is so long, I just needed to vent and no one else is awake.
