Need help or tips

So my son has his first cold at 1 year and 1 month old. I run a humidifier when we are sleeping to help break up the mucus, put him in a steamy bathroom, warm bath, etc. We have a bulb and nose Frida plus boogie wipes but for the life of me he will not let me touch his face. Its literally a fight to hold him down, put the saline in his nose and then suction the boogies out. He needs to let me do this, he already has that congested cough. But being 13 weeks pregnant, having a cold myself, its getting so hard to try and wrestle him to get it out. I just need tips from other toddler mommies on what they do to suck out their toddlers nose.
