Small birthday vs Family gathering

I need advice.

So my daughter's first birthday is very soon and her actual birthday is on a weekday. My husband will only be able to see her in the morning because he works till 10:00 PM.

We want to keep her birthday simple with us or in general but we also don't want the grandparents to feel excluded.

We thought about trying small multiple get togethers but there is no way to see everyone individually in one day. Not all of them will come together or to our place because they live in different towns or states, any suggestions for this 1 year olds birthday?
