Weight gain 1st trimester with twins

Kristin

How much weight did you gain in the first trimester? I’ve heard you really aren’t supposed to gain anything the first 3 months but assuming that’s for a singleton. I’ve been eating a lot because I’ve been hungry constantly so just curious what other’s experiences were!

I gained 3Ibs first trimester, than second trimester it came on rapidly. I’m now at 36w and have gained 40Ibs.

Im 14 weeks with twins and only finally gained 2 lbs in the last week compared to my ore-pregnancy weight. I was so sick at first that I actually lost weight for the first 2.5 months... I’m not sure what’s normal/good or not yet though since I’m still on a waitlist for an OBGYN 🤷‍♀️

I’ve lost 20 pounds and I’m 14w4d. Not throwing up besides first thing when I brush my teeth

Based on research 24lbs by 24 weeks is the goal. I highly recommend reading the book “when you’re expecting twins, triplets, or quads” by Barbara Luke. It’s a wealth of information.

My dr said up to 20 lbs by 20 wks is ideal for twin pregnancies since you’re supposed to be eating 2,700 calories daily. I’ve gained 22& I’m 19.3 😬😅

I didn’t gain much in the first trimester with twins because I was feeling quite sick and wasn’t eating much. But I have been gaining lots from 20 weeks on. I think I’ve put on 30lb at 32 weeks and guessing I will pack on more these final few weeks.

I'm 16w1d and up 17 lbs! Scared as heck cause I'm definitely not trying to put weight on. Doctors weren't worried at my 12w6d and 13w2d appts (up 12 lbs by that point) but we'll see what they say on Monday and Friday. Love my belly but I feel massive and terrified of what'll I'll look like as time progresses.
