Anyone else?!

So I got pregnant due to a melatonin not mixing with birth control well and having no clue about it... so I haven’t tried to conceive it just happened. It really bugs me to see when people say “finally after three months I’m pregnant” or something similar. I personally just think it’s insensitive to the moms who have been trying for years!!! Does this bother anyone else or am I just being over protective to the mommas who waited forever to see a positive test?! Just wondering if this bothered anyone else cause I saw a post of someone saying “I’m finally pregnant after trying since October! I was getting so worried and stressed.” Like honestly I was shocked. It takes the average woman 6 months to conceive and you were worried and stressed after a few months?! Think of the moms who wait 6 years!! I personally just feel it’s insensitive. What are y’all’s thoughts?!

Melatonin wouldn’t affect your birth control... who told you that? And it’s only insensitive if they are going out of their way to post it in groups of people actively trying at that point it should be posted in the announcement group I personally went in thinking getting pregnant would be easy so a few months in I was worried something may be wrong with me since I hadn’t gotten pregnant right away but it took me a year and a half to get pregnant with my first

No. It doesn’t make me upset when people are excited to be pregnant. It took me three years to get pregnant and not once did I feel someone was being insensitive for being happy? Some of y’all need to learn how to celebrate other people’s victories.

Everyone's experience and journey is different and "normal" is different for everyone. If someone feels like taking a few months to get pregnant is 'forever', then to them, that's what it seemed like. It's not a competition, I can't imagine the average person is trying to upset anyone else. Voicing your thoughts/opinions isn't insensitive. Expecting people to tiptoe around and avoid what might upset you, is insensitive, IMO.

No, it doesn’t bother me. Just because others have been able to conceive doesn’t mean they didn’t experience heartbreak when they couldn’t

It personally doesn't bother me. It took 13 months to conceive my first. While that was a long time to me, I know it's a total blip in someone else's journey. Did it hurt to see others have babies while we were trying? Sure. But that's not their fault and their journey shouldn't be cut short just because someone else's was more difficult.  We can all experience joy and sorrow in our own ways.

Just because they got pregnant after only a few months, doesn't mean they're being insensitive. It could have felt like forever trying to  conceive. I know it felt like forever when I was trying for 10 months.

I will also add it’s all in how you look at things my step mom has been trying for 7 years for another baby (she has PCOS) and is always excited and ready to celebrate everyone’s pregnancy even my decorum’s pregnancy that I got pregnant right away with 🤷🏼‍♀️

You’ve all made good points. I was clearly just being too sensitive. I just wish for all these mommas who have been trying for years that their “trying forever” was 3 months. I definitely get your point of view though! Also, please don’t mistake me sensitivities with me being insensitive myself! I’m still so happy for all the mommas!! I just feel for the ones who aren’t mommas yet!
