Friends comments over your pregnancy

So i'd like to know what you all think and how you would have reacted if this happened to you.

I'm 18 weeks pregnant and I live in Canada. Me and my SO were supposed to go over to a friend's house for her 31st birthday tomorrow. There's a freezing rain warning for tomorrow so we asked them if we could maybe get together another day as they live 1.5 hours from our place and there's a possibility we get caught in the freezing rain so we didn't like the idea of risking the drive.

So here are the messages my SO sent copy pasted: (SO)'' I realize it's a small risk but we're worried of even the smallest accident. Wouldnt hurt us but it might hurt the baby.'' (Friends)''''

"Baby isn’t growing in a glass egg... drive slow and if the roads are that bad you’re welcome to spend the night. If we do get hit by the storm it’ll melt in the morning. It’s supposed to be warm. Up to you guys though."

Their guest bedroom is built right on top of their wooden furnace and it's unbearable to spend an hour in there even when I wasn't pregnant. The few times we slept there I woke up many times in sweat ended up trying to sleep on the floor as it was too hot in the bed even without covers. Also felt dehydrated in the morning.
