Anyone hearing the Portland weather and laughing about how the possibility of snow might shut down the city??

We’re a little north of Seattle and it’s snowing like crazy! Scheduled for csection this Friday and hoping the roads get better 😑😳😂

I grew up in the Portland area (Milwaukie specifically) and that was a totally normal concept to me to have everything shut down when it snowed. I've lived in SE Idaho for 2 years now and spent last winter driving to work every day in blizzards and over a foot of snow. To be fair though, Portland gets lots of ice and has lots of hills so it's much scarier to drive there. It also doesn't snow very often so no one can practice driving lol

Ha I laugh when I hear this. I’m originally from north of Seattle and now living in Bend. It’s not a big deal. My husband worked that last snow storm in the Roseburg area. It was bad.

I’m about 4 hours South of Portland and haven’t heard anything about it from the friends who do live further up North. Not saying that it will happen or won’t- but it’s best to be prepared. 
Last year, we had a “snowpacolypse” in the town/surrounding areas that I live in. 4 days without power for a lot of people- including my mother and friends.. It was awful! According to the locals who have lived here awhile, it was the most snow we’ve gotten in 27 years. 😭
