What was your decision after MMC?

Question

I went in for my NT scan on Friday (11 weeks) and discovered baby had no heartbeat and had stopped growing around 9 weeks. 
I've had no physical symptoms of MC to date...just continued pregnancy symptoms so this was a complete shock. 💔😭
I had a scheduled appt with the midwives tomorrow and I have kept that appt to decide next steps.
Curious what others have done after experiencing a MMC?
Any words of wisdom or personal experiences would be appreciated.

I had a MMC at 12 weeks and had the same options. I chose to undergo the D&C and have no regrets. 
It had been such a rollercoaster of emotions, I was just ready for it to be over. I didn’t want to drag it out any longer.

I tried naturally it didnt work. I tried the pill that didnt work. Had no choice but to get a dnc. It wasnt too bad. Barely had any bleeding. My body jumped back to normal quickly.  Well I'm having a second miscarriage and it going naturally.  It's been horrible. My hormones are all over the place. I'm bleeding so bad. The cramps suck. I'm on day 8 of bleeding still. I just want this over with already. I know dnc is a medical procedure but it was easier for me anyway.

I'm sorry for your loss. For my MMC I tried waiting for it to happen naturally but found out after 3 weeks of no HB. I was given a week to wait. I took the pills so I could be at home and it was excruciating. I ended up retaining tissue which is a common side effect. When I went in for the continued bleeding I discovered I was severely anemic, had a major infection due to the retained tissue and was taken for a D&C. If I ever have another MMC I will go strait for the D&C and skip the pain.

Sadly our saga isn't over yet. The doctor suspects I may have had a partial molar pregnancy so now we wait the week or so for labs to get back.

I had a MMC at 10 weeks. At my first ultrasound at 8+2 we were told there was no heartbeat and the fetus stopped growing at 6 week. I opted for Misoprostal (cytotec) and took 4 pills inserted vaginally around 5:30pm. I started cramping within 20 minutes. My doctor prescribed Percocets to take prior to help with the pain (I only needed 1). By 12am I started bleeding and by 2:45am I passed the tissue/sac. I give the credit to the pain killers but I did not feel any pain really and I went back to sleep without pain. I felt fine physically the next day just a bit crampy but 2 days later I developed a really painful and bad infection in my uterus and Fallopian tubes. I was in the hospital for 3 days on antibiotics. Bled for 2 weeks and spotted for 1 week. It’s been a little over 4 weeks since my miscarriage and still no period. I didnt opt for d&c bc it was expensive and my insurance wouldn’t cover it. I also don’t like the idea of being under.

I decided on medical, but it didn’t work for me. A week later everything was still in there so I had to have a d&c.

I opted for the pills but they didnt work on me at all so had to get the D&C which for me also didnt go well but Ive heard most the time it does and honestly I would choose it again (even with the problems i had) just to make things end faster to help move forward.

I had a MMC at 11w baby stopped growing at 8w. I opted for a d&e the next day. My dr explained the options and advised miscarrying naturally can be very painful and traumatic. I just wanted it to be over, I was numb and upset. After the d&e I woke up from the sedation crying and teeth chattering from being so sad. They gave me some iv pain medication and sent me home with narco to help with the cramping. You still will bleed after the d&e. Some women only bleed a few days, I bled for 3 weeks. Whatever you choose, know you are not alone and it sucks. You lost a child and lean on those who share similar experiences and who listen. I am so sorry you are going through this. 💔

I voted for the wrong one! We did the medical management, pill. We used Cytotec inserted vaginally. It wasn’t nearly as bad as I expected and I would definitely do it again but pray I never have to. I was really wanting to avoid surgery if possible. There’s a chance that the surgery can leave scar tissue that makes it hard to conceive in the future. Plus just avoiding anesthesia and surgery in general was a big plus for me. Everything passed with the first dose of the Cytotec. So sorry you are going through this mama.

I chose the medicine because I didn't want a surgery but I just wanted it to be over. Roughly 4 hours after the medication everything had passed but that's when the extreme pain started
