Did my 17 year old brother leave home for the wrong reason?

But my lil bro got his dumb ass caught fucking at home and was on punishment for 2 months i think maybe? Idk it was 2 or one and a half. My mom told me he's been arguing with her every single day on getting his own place. I mean he makes the money to care for himself because he has this really weird phobia of being a failure. I don't know how to explain it but he starts freaking out (Literally) if he feels like he's not making enough to keep paying off his phone bill and car. So he keeps picking up side jobs and yeah I dont even how you fix that lmao. But my mom (whos super strict) actually gave in and let him file for emancipation. I told him you just need to stay home because Texas is becoming an expensive state and he told me he can handle it. I asked him why are you leaving JUST to have sex and he said because he wants to and I just am really concerned that hes not seeking independence for the right thing lmao. My brother can handle living alone but at the same time who's gonna make sure he goes to school? Because if he lives alone he most def will show up like an hour late every other day lol. Thats pretty much my only concern. Him and I (I graduated in 2016) would be the first generation of graduates in our family because my family are South American immigrants. I cant tell my brother what to do I just want to be backed up on this lol
