Low baby

I got a private scan done at 16w5d since we hadn’t seen the baby since 9w and doctor said he won’t do another ultrasound until 20w. The ultrasound technician put the gel below my belly button and didn’t see him and then went down between my hip bones and there he was. Private scans can’t tell you anything medically so I was wondering if it’s normal at this stage for baby to still be that low or what that might mean? Just hoping for a healthy baby and pregnancy 💙
