What does this mean

What does it mean if you tell your boyfriend you want a future with him and his response is "I want to work on my future." ...

BTW there is a huge language barrier between us so its kind of hard to understand what he means sometimes.

I really hate adults who play teenage games. I feel like he should give me a real answer already. He is almost 30 years old. Does he want marriage/kids with me or not? And I have brought this up to him and he dances around the answer. Not sure if I should move on or continue trying.
