Back problems from epidural?

Question

Any mommies that have had an epidural! How long did your back hurt from it? I can’t stand for very long or lay a certain way bc my back hurts so bad where they put my epidural and it’s been almost 6 weeks... I’m going to ask my OB at my appointment but just wondering if anyone else had something similar and if it ever went away?

My back never hurt from it. Maybe they put it in wrong.

My MIL had one and they put it in wrong and she’s now 50 with ongoing pain in her back from where they put the epidural.

A little TMI but I have birthed 13 children, never unmedicated. 6 vaginally 7 c sections plus a laparotomy where I was cut again in my cesarian scar due to a rare etopic (cesarean scar pregnancy) & have always experienced some type of discomfort. I'd recommend you seeing your primary care physician as you will probably have some type of discomfort from here on out due to the epidural.

The chances of back problems from an epidural are ridiculously slim to none. Your back is probably messed up from just being pregnant.

With my first it took me well over 3 years to finally have my back not hurt when I’d move a certain way or stand for too long. It was a very different kind of pain, sharp and quick setting then would linger for awhile. It did finally go away though.

I’m 8 weeks PP and I still have pretty bad back pain and occasionally severe migraines.. I’m still trying to figure out how to help it.

My ob told me this is a myth. Your back gets messed up during birth as baby scrapes the bones of your lower back as they squeeze out. Mine had a big head and I’m petite, I was messed up for almost three months!! 
The only way out of it is having c section.

Sadly that’s one of the side effects from the epidural. They had to re-do mine three times. Worst part was during labor I felt everything on my left side, but not my right. So I guess you can kinda say I went natural 😂 (worst pain of my life). I still have some back problems due to the epidural. But it can also be you carrying the care seat around. I’ve noticed my back pain isn’t as bad anymore like it was when my child was in a car seat.

It took me over a year for my back pain to go away. I had back problems before the epidural, but the pain come and went away. I ended up going to the doctors for it a few months ago and the doctor told me it was a muscle spasm. So gave me muscle relaxers and after about 2 weeks (not on meds the entire time just the first 4days) my back pain went away.
