Diaper bag(s)

Hi everyone!

I have a 2yr old (not potty trained yet) and another due in May. Do you guys have 2 diaper bags or just 1 for both?

I could see this being more of a hassle to have 2 separate but was just curious what others are doing.

Thanks!

I have a 3 year old who is potty trained and we haven’t carried a bag for him in a very long time, so take my advice with a grain a salt. I’d only carry one. All you really need at this point for the older kid is one diaper and maybe a change of clothes if they’re messy. Everything else overlaps with the new baby. So I’d say one bag.

Just one bag. My 3 yr old is potty trained and honestly these days, I don’t even carry a bag for her just a wet bag in car in case of emergencies. But when the baby comes I’ll throw that wet bag in the diaper bag with snacks for her. They make some great diaper bags for multiple children and there are some YouTube videos showing how people with multiple children pack them.

I’ll add she’s potty trained so it’s just extra clothes and potty stuff.

I have a two year old and a 2 month old. I just use one diaper bag. My 2 year old is kind of potty trained. Most of the time he holds it until we get home. He doesn’t feel comfortable in public restrooms. Mine is a backpack. I breastfeed so I don’t have to have bottles/formula. All I bring is diapers for both (about 8 for my youngest and 2 for my oldest), wipes, a change of clothes for my youngest, and a bottle of water and 2-3 small snacks for my oldest. I still have plenty of room in the bag if I did need formula/bottles.Before I gave birth I let my son carry his small lunchkit with his diapers and wipes and snacks. Maybe you can try letting him hold his own stuff and you hold the babies, if you don’t have enough room for both.

The bag I got for my son is huge since we were doing cloth diapers and I knew we wanted 2 close together. I'm thinking of getting a second, smaller bag, so if he's going somewhere with his dad/aunts/grandparents the main diaper bag can stay with the infant. But I'd only take 1 if I was going out with both kids.
