Do you tip photographers?

Depends for me. If they’re working for a large company I would. If they’re independent, I’m assuming they set their own prices for what they consider to be fair.

in general, it's not expected, but if they do a particularly good job, tipping as a compliment is pretty normal.

I tipped my wedding photographer, however I have not tipped my family photographer. Not sure what event you’re discussing?

If they own their own business, no because that means they’re setting their own rate and get to keep all the money you paid them. 
If they work for a larger company then yes you should tip the photographer.

This sounds stupid but I only tip small photographers like my friend just started a business and she doesnt charge a lot but does TONS of work like she offered to redo an entire shoot because I didnt love 1 of the pictures from my original shoot and shes just super great so I do tip her but I did a shoot for a magazine a few times and the photographer made like $900 off my pictures and was kind of rude  so I dont think I needed to

I didn’t, ands here’s why.
Her husband was my husbands friend, we asked him to MC the wedding and her to be the photographer.
Her husband butchered it and was awful and she wasn’t great either, had a bad attitude and left an hour earlier than we paid for and arrived almost an hour late.
She charged us $3,000 so I didn’t tip.
