Speculum pain?

So I’m 20wks 4days and yesterday I felt a gush while sitting on the toilet it was a lot of pressure and sudden I got a little bit of a fright and then waking up this morning I had a trickle down my leg. So I called and was told to go to the hospital to be seen, everything turned out fine we aren’t 100% sure what caused the sudden gush it’s likely my bladder problems but I don’t care at least baby is fine! I was examined with a speculum for the first time and she said it shouldn’t be painful and explained everything in full before beginning although I experienced a lot of pain she could tell by my body language and reaction and apologised and went as quickly as possible. Is it normal for it to be painful? To add, sex is extremely painful but my doctors (not at the hospital just my GP and urologist) know this because of the whole bladder issue which causes UTI like symptoms and they believe that is what is causing painful sex so maybe that’s why the speculum hurt so much idk

But she couldn’t get a good look and had to do a manual examine with her hands and that didn’t hurt at all. I just feel like my whole body is broken, everything is wrong with everywhere or at least it feels like it 🙄
