Which would be appropriate?

This will be baby #4. My last baby was 5 years ago. I have absolutely nothing for a baby! I never had a baby shower or anything for my other children Bc we were very financially stable, this time around this pregnancy was unexpected and were a little tight on money. I would like/need a little extra help. Would it even be appropriate to have a baby shower or baby sprinkle considering it’s our 4th child?

I think baby showers are a celebration of new life. Every child deserves a baby shower and the mom shouldn’t be guilted into thinking that they deserve less. I think a baby sprinkle and a baby shower are essentially the same thing but i see this question a lot. You should have the party you want for your baby no matter what you call it.

I personally find it odd and wouldn't do either. Maybe a meet and greet after baby is born. But specifically a gift giving event for a 4th child, I would say no.

If your asking for gifts it’s pretty much a shower... 
I don’t personally agree with doing showers for second, third, forth babies etc. 
If you really need help maybe have a meet and greet with family or something and ask for gift cards? 
Or a small family only diaper party.

I personally don't think finances have anything to do with whether a baby shower is appropriate. Your friends/family aren't more obligated to buy you things because you're less financially prepared.
But I think you can totally have a full baby shower for this baby since you haven't had any before! That isn't the typical situation for a 4th baby. So go for it 😊
