So i’ve had a male friend for over 4 years. He’s expressed his interest in me years ago but i didn’t want to ruin our friendship. He respected that, and we remained only friends since.

A few months ago, we decided to make an effort and see where we could go. We haven’t had sex, and i definitely don’t want to until he knows that i do have HSV2. I plan to be honest and inform him about my routine in taking care of myself and not having outbreaks. I’m so nervous. I know some people are going to think “oh he’s been your friend for so long, just tell him”, but in my mind the fact that he’s my friend first i would be devastated if he began to treat me different... maybe i’m overthinking but he’s wanted me for so long and he’s an amazing guy. I just don’t know if he’s be able to look past this & still want me for who i am.
