Should my boyfriend and I get a puppy together?

My boyfriend is getting his own place this summer and I told him I didnt want to move in with him until we got married (personal preference, dont come at me😅)... but anyways. 
Weve been thinking ab getting a puppy together😊 right now we are looking into corgis but want other opinions on good dogs lol.. his mom has a schnauzer and my family has shih tzu's and a pit
What kind of dogs do yall have and pro's and cons? TIA🥰

If you’re not committed enough to move in together and/or at least get engaged, I wouldn’t put an animal in the middle of it

Do not do this. He'll be living by himself trying to train this puppy. Wait until you've actually moved in with him even if that's waiting until you're married.

If you are not committing to moving before marriage then why buy a puppy? If you want to commit to a pet then ya best bet is to move in and get engaged. There’s nothing wrong with moving in before marriage. It’s better to move in before marriage to see if you like living with him to see if It works for the both of you. Hold off on the pet if you’re not willing to move in.

This is a decision between you two... If you both are ready for the commitment that comes with a puppy (financial and otherwise)... you always have to find a place for them to stay if you want to go out of town, you can’t just leave for a weekend without them. You can’t stay out for the night at a friend’s house because you got too drunk or whatever... you always have to get home to the puppy.
If you do decide to get a puppy, I would recommend looking at shelters and rescue organizations.. not going to breeders. We got our dogs from rescue organizations.. we kept looking and looking until they had a puppy that matched what we wanted, which really didn’t take all that long. It’s not only better because it gets dogs off the street and into loving homes, but it also is a lot cheaper. They come with all their shots and exams... and they usually pay for them to get spayed/neutered.

My bf and I moved in together about a year ago and got a dog a few months after:)
If you guys are serious and everything I’d say go for it!! He’s part of our lil family now🥰
