Is your 17-18 month old still rear - facing or front - facing in their carseat?

My son is tall and his knees are bent when sitting rear - facing but he doesn't seem uncomfortable/fussy sitting like that in the car. Not sure if I should just make him forward - facing or leave him rear - facing.

Please leave him rear facing until he isn't comfortable... They say at least till 2 years but honestly go as long as you can. A crash can be so devastating to a little ones neck and spine if they are facing forward.

Kids are very rarely uncomfortable just from having to bend their legs. Rear-facing as long as they are able to meet the limits of a rear-facing seat is super important, because they are SO much safer in a crash that way.

It's a law in my state they must remain rear facing till they are 2. My LO is petite and doesnt even meet the requirements of my seat to forward face. (Graco extend2fit)

My kids are rear facing till at least 3. My daughter was tiny so she was almost 4 before she outgrew the weight/height limits of her seat. My son had just turned 3 as his is tall and he maxed out the height limits on the rear facing. Check your car seats weight/ height limits and if your child is still within them then PLEASE keep them rear facing as it is safest for them.

She is rear facing and likely will be for a while because she’s pretty small. Doesn’t seem to bother her which is a bonus.

I follow the car seat lady on Instagram and she has great tips. Mostly that kids will always find very comfortable positions for their legs rear facing.
If forward facing they might find their legs more uncomfortable because they hang down. Just like we might find when sitting on a bar stool with no foot rest

She will be staying rest facing until at minimum 2 hopefully longer.

In our State the law is rear facing until 1.  We turned her a couple weeks ago because we thought the same thing but she actually seems more uncomfortable forward facing so we’re switching her back this weekend.
