Chances of NIPT being wrong for gender?

I had the NIPT done at 10 weeks and they called me saying the gender results were a boy! Anyone ever had their results be incorrect? I’m thrilled to have another boy but obviously I’m nervous too because I haven’t seen boy parts on an ultrasound yet to confirm.

Blood results are very accurate. I trust it more than ultrasound unless a penis is very blatantly obvious. 😅 My son spread his legs wide eagle during my anatomy scan. 😂👏🏼

Very unlikely that it would be wrong. If you were early on and didnt have a good fetal fraction then it's possible to get a false "girl" result even if you're having a boy, but it would be very difficult for it to say "boy" and have it be a girl. Unless there was a sample swap or something, which is pretty rare. I would trust nipt results way more than an ultrasound for gender.

I would say probably impossible. NIPT checks chromosomes. There’s either a Y chromosome or there’s not.
