Is there a limit of c-sections?

So I’m thinking ahead here and wondering if there is a limit to how many c-sections a woman is allowed to have? I’ve heard rumors of such but don’t know if they’re true.
I was in labor for 3 days with my first LO and it ended with an emergency c section. I’d like to try a VBAC when the next one comes along. My hubby and I would like to have four kids eventually, so now I’m wondering if we are even able to if I can’t do a vaginal birth successfully.

I mean, they might “recommend” a certain number. But if you were pregnant with your fourth child and in labor and needed a c-section because VBAC wasn’t successful, they wouldn’t just let you or your baby be in harms way because you’ve already had X amount of c-sections. It may make recovery worse or something, but there’s no way they would deny you one if you needed it.

I think it depends on your doctor/hospital. I know where I live they recommend 4 c-sections max. So I would talk to your OB the next time you see them.

There are no limits because once the baby is inside it has to get out somehow. But every next csection and pregnancy are getting more risky. I’ve heard from one doctor that he considered pregnancy after 3 csection “irresponsible”

That’s going to depend on your particular case and body, but my friend just had her 4th c section. So, I think it’s best you speak with your doctor about that.

These days there isn’t really a limit BUT that’s depending on how your uterus responds to pregnancy and c sections. The only person who can really tell you if another is safe is your doctor because they need to evaluate YOU. That said, I hope your VBAC goes well and it’s not something you need to stress about!

I have a friend who had four but the doctor was like, “seriously you can’t do this again” during the fourth surgery and she agreed to have a hysterectomy. (Because of what the doctor saw inside) 
It’s a matter of risks and benefits. Your risk of complications rises with each one. But there’s not like a limit I don’t think. But just think that your uterus is being cut into and healing the same way over and over. There’s only so much your individual body will safely handle. You need to talk to your OBGYN for a clearer answer.
