How far along until my doctor stops transvaginal ultrasounds and does belly ones?

I was told from 8 weeks they can try an abdominal scan but may still need to be transvaginal.

My first scan she started with the belly, switched to transvaginal and then switched back to belly because she was getting better images. I didnt get my first scan till almost 12 weeks though. My two other scans after that were also belly.

8 wk was transvaginal, 12 weeks I had some bleeding so they did transvaginal but don't normally even do an ultrasound at that appointment. 20 wk was abdominal.

My doctors office only does transvaginal before 12 weeks, they won’t attempt a abdominal because of the better picture it gives. Once 12 weeks hit they’ll do abdominal the test of the time

My 8wk was abdominal. I was told they would only do it vaginally if they couldn’t find baby abdominally. Since baby should have a heartbeat at 8wks there shouldn’t been any need for it vaginally after this time.
