When guests come to your house are you ok with them eating your food?

So I’m the kind of person if someone comes to my house, I want them to feel like it’s their home too. Get some food, take your shoes off, hang out. I have met many people who aren’t like that though which is fine but who think guests should bring their own food when coming over or who think it’s rude to eat at someone’s house for free. What kind of person are u? You ok with guests eating your food, or no? Just a poll

Rude to eat at someone’s house for free??? I think it’s rude as hell to not offer food to your guest and I was raised this way. At the very minimum a cup of tea or coffee. Maybe this is an American thing or something because in my culture not offering (loads!) of food to your guest is like a mortal sin.

I think if they just started looking in my cupboards and eating stuff with out asking would be rude. I would normally offer before it would get to that point though lol. Mi casa su casa

One of my favorite part of having people over is cooking for them (either a meal, a snack, or some sweet treats). I've never seen someone not offer snacks or something during a visit.

Pft any time my neighbors come over I make them eat. I pull out all my snacks and everything. I love for everyone to eat and snack and be comfortable.

It depends to be honest. If you’re having them over for a long time and it’s cutting into their normal lunch or dinner times then it’s nice to offer some food. But if they’re just coming over to eat then that’s weird and I hate that from people. Like go eat at your own house or buy yourself food. I also wouldn’t expect anyone to bring their own food, I find that kinda weird.

I was raised by a Puerto rican mom and grandmother who would have a sales men come to sell a vaccum and they would have them come in, give them coffee, food, drinks ect.😂 I was raised this way so it doesn't bother me to offer to feed someone and give them a drink. I have a friend who's the complete opposite tho. So I can see both sides.

Nobody will be leaving my house hungry, I will always at least offer. My family and friends know I don’t even have to offer they can come on in and get something to eat! I tell them they don’t have to even ask .
