Son has the flu and now pneumonia - anyone have experience?

My 15 month old son was diagnosed Monday with influenza A, he had a fever of 104 with a cough and cold symptoms. Tamiflu didn’t agree with him so we stopped after the second dosage. By Wednesday, he was so much better and didn’t have a fever for 48 hours without Motrin or Tylenol.
Fast forward to last night, fever of 102 is back. Brought him to his ped and he said he had a touch of pneumonia and to get him started on amoxicillin right away. 
My son has been drinking plenty of fluids, producing wet diapers, has a normal appetite, has been playing. 
I’m a nervous wreck. All I can think of are the news stories I keep hearing about fly related deaths. Please anyone with experience or knowledge on any of this please comment. I’m a ball of nerves.

Hey mama, we just survived 2 weeks of RSV/bronchiolitis and then the flu back to back 🤦🏼‍♀️ like clockwork each night there was a fever spike of 103-104, despite the Motrin/Tylenol combo and his temp even dipped down to 95 with cold sweats at one point. It was horrifying. Thankfully he pulled out of it but it was our toughest period of parenting since the newborn days.
We did daily (sometimes twice) steam showers, nose frida with saline, lots of snuggles, some essential oils diffusing, some honey in his food since they’re old enough as a natural antibiotic, and then they eventually gave him antibiotics for signs of an ear infection which also combats pneumonia. He didn’t eat much during that period but we made sure to keep him hydrated and didn’t worry as much about what he was eating as long as he was somewhat fed (we gave up on veggies and he pretty much survived in fruit and dairy 🤷🏼‍♀️). 
I’m in WI so our cold/flu season is brutal, so I have lots of friends with really little babies struggling with the same but at 6weeks to 6 months old. 
You’ve got this! You guys are strong!
Biggest takeaway for me - accept help! And ask for it! You too need your rest and your sleep or you will end up sick right as they’re getting better (like me 🤦🏼‍♀️). Be where your feet are and try to soak up the snuggles. I hope it passes soon 💕

I would suggest to keep him indoors and wash his hands thoroughly. Make sure u Lysol everything in the room. Do not let anyone near ur baby. No kissing either. Change his outfit daily . 
My son had the infulenza and I was wreck . So I kept him indoors and I did not let my family touch him. They got but hurt , but oh well.. my son health is first. Hope baby gets well!! Did they do a chest x ray?

My son has battled an ear infection and fluid behind his ears for two weeks now and now on top of that, he has a stomach virus and cant keep anything down 😔 it is absolutely awful

My little girl was 20 months when she got pneumonia. It was scary. She had been sick with a cold and then got pneumonia as a secondary infection. It was so hard. How has your little ones fever been doing? We battled fever for over a week. One night, I noticed she was having a really hard time breathing. At this point, no one had detected pneumonia but I just had a feeling. We took her to the ER and they admitted her for twenty days. Our story was a bit of a horror story, as she was battling an extremely aggressive and rare bacteria that didn’t respond to antibodies. We survived two life saving surgeries. Her lung was completely collapsed and had a hole in it. She was on a ventilator for almost a week. Not sayin any of this to scar you! She recovered so quickly once they finally got the right meds going. Our babies are so resilient. My baby girl is now 2 and a half and is 100% healthy now! I pray your little one is feeling better!!
