Heart bypass surgery

Hi ladies, bit off topic but my dad is scheduled to have open heart surgery as he had a second heart attack in the last 3 years. He’s got stints put in (3 in total) but unfortunately after doing an angiogram, it showed they didn’t work.

He’s currently in hospital and they won’t discharge him till there is a bed available at the hospital where they will perform the surgery.

Has anyone had/ or knows anyone who has had heart bypass surgery? Can you tell me about the recovery or how the procedure is please? Any information that you ladies might have would be useful. Very grateful in advance.
