What to do right after sex?

Hey all so probably a dumb question but I am really new to all this and always in the past I’d get up after sex (depending whether I could stand lolll) and clean up down there or hop in the shower...
Now that we are officially TTC am I supposed to lie there and make sure his stuff has a chance to do its thing before I get up? I still want to clean up before I get dressed but I have to remind myself we actually want this to happen haha (so many years of condoms and pulling out it’s hard to retrain the brain that this is no longer considered an oops!)

It doesn’t matter really because it takes seconds to do what it needs to do but when ttc I laid there for 10-15 minutes then got up to pee, clean-up etc. try not to overthink it too much. Good luck! Also, to save you some trouble. When you start testing for pregnancy, don’t use any blue dye pregnancy tests. They almost always have a faint positive line. Pink dye tests are best. And if testing early(before period is due), don’t use a digital!

You should get up to pee. If you want lay there for a few minutes bu all meand but you don't need to.

No. All lying there does is increase your chances of an infection. Semen is SUPPPSED to come out right after.

I dont remember the name of the study but getting up and walking increased the odds of conceiving vs laying there with legs up the wall.

You don’t need to do anything special, maybe lie and cuddle for a few minutes but don’t worry about trying to save it. Sperm makes it into your reproductive tract in just a few minutes, regardless if you’re lying down or not. The rest is just fluid/dead sperm.
