Do you think dragons existed before?

I do believe dragons did exist once long time ago. I know many people don’t believe the Bible but the only reason I believe dragons existed is because the Bible always compares the devil with a dragon therefore even if people don’t believe anything written in the Bible there had to be a creature so scary that existed back then to describe the devil even if the book is fiction right? Just like the book compares Jesus with a lion an animal we know still exists
