Is it wrong to ask for a new ring?

Back story- my husband got my ring based off my former friends influence. She sent me a photo (spoiled it for me) and it was so pretty.. but the way she took the photo verses what I saw.. it just didn’t feel like my ring. We’ve since added bands, but I just don’t love it. We’ve been married over a year, and I don’t have the heart to tell him. This wasn’t my “dream ring”. I know it’s petty and silly.

I didn’t love my ring either, but I loved that he completely picked it out himself. It made it more of a true gift to me from him. He truly thought it out after looking at every single ring in the store before settling on that one. It also has the stone from his moms engagement ring. After 4 years I love it now!
I wouldn’t say anything. Your relationship is the important thing, not having the “dream ring” at the expense of your husbands feelings. No inanimate object is worth hurting your spouses feelings.

So my ring was his great grandmas. I told him when we was able I wanted a ring that was something we picked out together. But we was together for 5 years before 8 got it. So maybe once you hit 5 years you both go together and both get new bands

If you’re really unhappy with it, bring it up to him. I would phrase it more as “at some point could we look at getting a new ring” instead of just “I want a new ring” because they’re expensive and it would be less pressure then

Of course say something! You have to wear something every day for the rest of your life that you don’t like just because you don’t want to POSSIBLY bum him out for a bit? If he truly loves you which I’m quite sure he does he wouldn’t care what ring you wore as long as you wore A ring.
Would you honestly care if it was the other way around and he wanted something different? You’d just want him to like it.
