Maternity leaves =O

I can’t believed I work for a multimillion u.s corporation own by the UK. Will give me zero pay maternity leave. I can take up to 16 wks unpaid while the UK employees get 12 months of full paid leaves.

Sorry everyone, I just feel it is very unfair.

Should I work until I go into labor and then quit or should I just quit right now?

My bad, the uk gets 6 months full paid and 6 months you can use your time off, holiday or unpaid leaves. I am speaking of the company I am working for policy- not the UK in general!

My last job, I get 75% of my salary paid for 8 wks.

If I quit my job and apply for state benefit, I will get full cover for deliver and health insurance. I am currently paying $768 per month for my family health benefit which only cover 80% and deductible of $5k before the 80 % kick in.

I basically work just to get benefit for the family while putting my children at daycare. After health insurance and daycare expenses, I bring home maybe enough to cover my gas for the week.

I guess collect no income and live under the state benefit is better. At least I get to spend time with my kids and take care of them.
