You 💯 need to be taking folic acid, preferably folate, when TTC. It’s like the #1 rule that every doctor will tell you. We actually learned in highschool that any woman who is not on birth control ahouks take a vitamin with folic acid juuuust in case.

Basically to put it simply cells that are dividing use it. So the rapidly dividing cells in a fetus need it or it can cause problems
