It's usually expected. If you have a ton of gifts just have a plan to keep it moving. Have someone ready to hand you the next gift, and take away the unwrapped one. Have someone else assigned to writing down who gave you what so you don't lose track

Generally yes. Though I have been to a few where they didn't (ran out of time, crazy shy, whatever the reason). But generally people like to see your reaction to their gifts and see what other things you receive. My sisters and I love seeing gifts opened so we can go buy more stuff (if it's a close family member or friend) and match their theme. But that's just us :)

We’re going to, i think it’ll be fun opening them up and being able to say thank you to family and friends right there and them see our reactions! Plus everyone’s so excited about the baby they’re excited to see all the gifts she got anyways

I’m planning a couples shower with unwrapped gifts so we don’t have to (also more eco-friendly). we don’t love all the attention and would rather just have a low-key party with friends and family. Do whatever suits you!
