Please do your research about forceps, they’ve have damaged so many of my friends children, family and including me. 
My cousins little boy now has a giant scar across his face and spent 3 weeks in hospital because of that and then it got an infection as well. 
I refused for them to go anywhere near me with forceps , I had suction with my son and they got him out so safe and fast with no damage or any effects on him at all.

Research Forceps like everyone else has said. Unless your baby has progressed too far down birth canal that a c-section would require hysterectomy, avoid forceps in my opinion. They damage you and hurt  baby more often than help situation.  
But again,  do your own research and make informed decision for yourself.

I was offered both as my daughter got stuck. They said suction would hurt more as they don’t give as much pain relief, but was a safer, less invasive option. I needed an episiotomy but she came out safely and I’m glad I avoided surgery

Absolutely do not do forceps if you still have time to have a c-section. I had a forcep delivery with my son and he was very bruised and battered they definitely should have given me a c-section. I now need reconstruction surgery from the damage done to me. I’m pregnant with baby number 2 and am having a c-section I’m not putting my health or my baby at risk.

I would never allow forceps unless it’s a life or death situation. My sisters birth was a mess. She honestly should have had a c section but she gave birth with midwives that I guess prefer natural births. The baby was coming out chin first with a cord wrapped around her neck so her heartbeat was decreasing every time my sister pushed. Finally the doctor stepped in and told her either the baby had to come out with forceps right then or she was going to lose her. They used forceps and her jaw was broken at birth because of it. My sister also had to have 30+ stitches. I was there for her birth and it was so heartbreaking. There arent even many doctors that are trained to use forceps anymore as they cause many potential injuries .
