Fibroid distorting uterine cavity???

Me

Melissa

Results from HSG and MRI revealed I have what appears to be a submucosal fibroid pushing on my uterus causing the uterine cavity to be distorted. Interesting how this exact info never came up in any transvaginal ultrasounds I had during my first pregnancy that unfortunately ended in MC, but I digress (apparently it’s distorting it so much it looks like I have a heart shaped uterus). We are waiting an appt with a surgeon to see if she recommends surgery, I guess a myomectomy? Already met with fertility specialist and most likely going to start the IVF process and freeze embryos so that I can have the surgery and when recovered, they can do implantation. Has anyone else ever had this type of fibroid? How about an abdominal myomectomy? What is the recovery time? I’m so nervous and have tons of questions. I’m already 34 :/

I had the same, fibroid was occupying my entire uterus. I had a Myomectomy, recovery was quick and I conceived naturally 6 months later. It Is definitely possible!

Fingers crossed for you!! I hope it all goes smoothly. Once you finally have it done you will have relief 😊

I’m awaiting for my consultation with the surgeon but I think they’d be able to go in laparoscopically, which would be the preferred method!

I had mine laparoscopically - through the abdomen. Are they doing an open Myo (like a csection) for you? Or do you have the option to do it laparoscopically? I was back to normal about a week after surgery. Just took it easy after that
