Cleaning products for carseat recommendations?

My son got car sick this weekend for the first time ever. We totally stripped the car seat and washed everything but are unable to get the smell out of the straps. What’s the best cleaning product for the type of fabric car seat straps are made of?

I soak them in the sink with dawn, then scrub them with a brush and hang them to dry.  Repeat until the smell is gone...

Have you taken the straps out and washed them in the washer? It’s a pain but car seat straps do come out.
