Anyone planning to feed from jars?

Baby led weaning seems to be all the rage but is anyone planning to use purées from the store like in the jars/pouches? My husband and I both work long days and I don’t know that we will always have time to prepare all these foods for baby so I was thinking of doing a hybrid and do a little of both styles. Jarred food used to be the go-to but it sounds like nobody does that anymore...

We just mashed up banana or avocado when we started with our first kid. They recommend you start with one food at a time to make sure they aren’t allergic. So when you get home just mash up some banana, avocado, raspberries, etc and let him try it. We also cooked carrots and kept them in the fridge and would mash them up. Took 2 minutes. We didn’t do baby led weaning because I was afraid she would choke, but here she is at 2yrs old and eats a wide variety of foods just fine. It doesn’t matter what you start with, just do what you are comfortable with. We used baby pouches as well and squeezed it into the spoon because you can refrigerate the pouches for 24hrs and they are super cheap at Aldis!

With my first I did jars for fruit mostly and cooked/pureed my own veggies and meats. Planning the same this time. For some reason, prepping fruits just seemed like too much work for me. I would make a big batch and freeze into cubes. I had a freezer full of bags of cubes, then at meal time just pulled out a few different cubes and reheated.

I tried BLW with my first. It just wasn’t for us. We used jarred baby food and it was fine. I’ll used jarred again this time.

Will prob do 90% homemade because its a lot cheaper for more food. Plus id know exactly whats in the food and can do whatever combo of food i want based on the produce we have at home

Baby led weaning doesn’t take any more prep work then making food for yourself! You are just to give them what you are eating in appropriate sizes beginning at 6 months.

Do you know when it's ok to start feeding them solids? My oldest is 2 years old but I don't remember when to start. Do they have to be older than 3 months? My littlest just turned 3 months and he has no teeth coming in yet.

I'll be making my own food and having jars (not the pouches... I've seen some horrible mould incidents) jars for when we are on the go. Easier that way I guess.😊
