Induce or Nah?

Sierra

This will be my third baby. With my son I was 17 and it was super unexpected. I was 39 weeks when I went into labor and I barely got to the hospital in time to get an epidural (baby daddy thought I was being dramatic and didn’t want to drive me). I got there and an hour later started pushing, pushed for 20 minutes and he was here. 7 pounds 2 ounces, he completely changed my life. My daughter though. I was induced at 39 weeks because I kept having seizures (I have epilepsy) and it was sooo much harder. I went in that morning around 9. And she wasn’t here until around 6. I still only pushed for about 45 minutes but I was in pain allllll daaaay. Now my doctor is asking me if I think I’ll want to be induced or not. Did anyone else decide to be induced and have a decent experience? Or is it just going to be a whole day awful thing if I’m induced? Obviously labor sucks regardless but it’s a choice that has to be made 😂

I wouldn’t get induced unless it was a medical necessity

With me it’s more like they’re worried about the type of seizure that I have (grand mal) and it affecting the baby if I have a severe seizure. So it’s like a preventative type thing.

That’s tough, for me it’s not worth the increase chance of c-section but I totally get it that your seizures may be worth that risk

I was in labor for 42 hours start to finish from induction start time to birth... I say let it happen natural 🤷🏼‍♀️

I had to be induced bc my blood pressure was high, I was 41 weeks though 😬. They started the induction process about lunchtime on a Saturday morning and baby boy was born Sunday evening. I had the epidural at about midnight Saturday night though so I had an overall good experience, but I would love to go in on my own with baby #2 🙂
