So I work part time at this fast food chain and I’ve been working there since last summer and today’s the first time i ever forgot to clock in. I started working at 9am and didn’t realize I forgot to clock in until 11am. This would happen often to other people in the past and it would usually be an easy fix but recently my area manager mentioned that she’ll no longer be accepting time fixes. It’s still not fair because even though I forgot to clock in I should still get paid for the two hours I worked (it’s illegal if I don’t). So then my shift lead manager told me to just go home at my scheduled time without clocking out and he’d just clock me out at the time where I’d get my full scheduled hours. So I wasn’t working even though I was clocked in for two hours to get the two hours I missed in the system. Should I be worried if possible consequences for doing this? This was the only way I’d get paid for the two hours since area manager doesn’t want to fix it. My shift lead said it shouldn’t be an issue but idk.... I’m freaking out inside a bit but two of my shift leads said it shouldn’t be a huge issue since I’ve never had a history of this
