Getting induced on Saturday
So after 5 weeks of monitoring and three weeks of bed rest, the doctors decided today that I need to be induced at 37w0d which is Saturday. I have had high BP since week 8 and GD since 24 weeks. At 32 weeks they discovered that the blood pressure across the placenta is too high and while our little girl has not shown distress, I’m starting to show some of the signs of preeclampsia (headaches, vision problems, pain). I have been having checks every 3 days or so up until this point and I am really glad that they have decided that it’s better for her and me to get her out.
I am a bit worried though that they said I will need to be admitted to the hospital for the duration of the induction and that it can take 4 days for the process to work. I’m a FTM- is this really the case or are they telling me this so I don’t panic if I don’t have my baby right away?
Also does anyone have an advice for getting induced? Please don’t tell me not to because it is medically necessary and if it ends in a C-Section, I am ok with that. I just want my baby girl to get safely into this world.
