When did you start bonding with your baby?

It’s hard for me to bond with my 16 week old baby & i feel like i don’t love him enough. Its my first baby. It’s very exhausting and hard as i work full time and a single parent with no help or support from my family. Is this normal? If you’ve dealt with this, when did you start to bond with your baby?

It sounds a little bit PPD but maybe you need to talk to your doctor. 
But from personal experience I never got OMG I’m so in love moment for a very long time and I felt guilty but it’s common ppl just don’t talk about it. 
As a new mum you’re just trying to survive and keep your baby alive. It’s stressful, you’re sleep deprived and trying to adjust to this new life. Don’t be hard on yourself, see a dr just to make sure it’s nothing more serious.

Sounds like ppd. I didn’t bond with my first until she was 3. 
I was just going through the motions of motherhood. I was also 17 and the whole experience was really traumatic looking back now. 
I would tell her I loved her everyday but it just felt empty. 
Then one day I woke up and I knew she was my tiny best friend rocking with me until the end. 
It’ll get better for you.

I almost lost my son when he was first born and it scared me so much I didn’t wanna get attached because I didn’t want it to hurt that bad again. I felt horrible about it but I was to scared. It was about six months till I was able to get it through my head that he wasn’t going anywhere.
