My husband has this friend from work who he’s wanted to make plans with and wanted me to meet for literal years but she always had some sort of reason why she was too busy... anyway, now like 3 years later they finally decide we’re going to go on a double date (us and her and her boyfriend) but her boyfriend has a peanut allergy and a weird work schedule so they just want to meet up later in the evening at like 8pm, and my husband suggests lets go bowling.

Idk if it’s just me that thinks this is weird, partly because I’m introverted and socially anxious, partly just because I think the whole situation is weird to begin with, or if it’s actually weird. Like I’ve never met them before, so as if trying to have a conversation with people I don’t know isn’t awkward enough, someone is going to have to get up and leave the conversation every 30 seconds to bowl?

On one hand it could be a good ice breaker I suppose but on the other hand it just feels really really awkward and like idk how to converse with people and try to get to know them when someone has to keep leaving the conversation every few seconds...

Is it just me or is this an awkward idea??
