Blood clot right next to the amniotic sac

I m 8 weeks and 3 days and started bleeding today. When I went in, I was given a vaginal ultrasound where they noticed the dark circle right outside my amniotic sac. She said that this is a blood clot and it might go away on it's own or it could make the baby detach from the uterine lining leading to a miscarriage. Has anyone had a good experience after something like this? She mentioned that if the clot doesnt resolve itself by the second trimester, it could send me into preterm labor. All of this being said, she also said that most of the time it is fine. They are just going to be watching it closely.
